Adopt Me! Guide: Best Tips for New and Returning Players
Hey, wanna learn how to earn Adopt Me! Bucks fast, hatch legendary pets, and trade safely on Roblox? Our guide will show you how! Follow our best tips (for new and returning players) so you can either hatch your first Legendary pet or build a trading empire.
About Adopt Me!
Adopt Me! is one of Roblox’s most popular games, with over 42 billion visits since its 2017 launch by Uplift Games. The game starts once you drop onto Adoption Island, where you raise pets, earn Bucks, build homes, and trade with other players.
This is a game that rewards players for their patience and smart play.
What’s the Best Adopt Me! Starting Point?
Your game starts after you first spawn on Adoption Island and choose a role. Use the Age-O-Matic to switch between playing as a Parent to care for your babies and pets, or as a Baby to care for yourself and earn double Bucks on tasks. For new players focused on grinding for currency, the Baby role is for you.
After you’ve chosen your role, head to the Nursery to get your first egg. The Starter Egg is free and hatches into a Cat or Dog. Once you have your first pet, start completing needs-based tasks to earn XP and Bucks.
If you’re playing as a Baby, always have your pet equipped. The combination of the 2x Bucks multiplier and active pet tasks stacks your earnings much faster. Bucks are what fuel the ecosystem of Adopt Me!
Prioritize Cracked Eggs
From the Nursery, buy Cracked Eggs at 350 Bucks each and hatch them. This builds your inventory early in the game and is more cost-effective than purchasing pets from other players.
How to Earn Bucks Fast
Want to earn those Bucks fast? Knowing where they come from will help you save hours of what may feel like pointless grinding. Here are the best methods to rake in the Bucks quicker:
Maximize Daily Login Rewards
Log in to Adopt Me! Every 15 hours will trigger an escalating reward streak that’ll pay up to 200 Bucks per login. You’ll also earn Stars for the Stars Reward track. Whenever you claim the Day 5 gift during each cycle, this is extremely valuable. Make sure you don’t skip a day, as this will reset the streak.
Do Jobs and Use the Task Board
Adoption Island has 9 jobs you can choose from. They are:
Hospital
Doctor: While inside the hospital, hold other players’ pets as a doctor. This pays you 15 Bucks per minute.
Nurse: Same thing as the doc. While in the hospital, you get paid 15 Bucks per minute while holding other players’ pets.
Pizza Shop
Chef: Earn 10 pucks per pizza by grabbing the dough, using the right ingredients, and baking them in the oven.
Manager: Run the shop, reward employees with bonuses, and earn 15 Bucks per minute.
Waiter/Waitress: Pick up prepared pizzas and deliver them to customers. Pays 15 Bucks per minute.
Salon
Salon Manager: run the Salon, give bonuses, and award Employee of the Week. You earn 15 bucks per minute as a manager.
Stylist: Spray different colors on pets for 40 minutes. You’re paid 15 Bucks per minute. (Especially fun when you’re playing with friends.)
School
Principal: Run the school and recognize star teachers with bonuses. Earn 15 Bucks per minute.
Teacher: While in the school, hold other players’ pets and help with their tasks. Get paid 15 Bucks per minute.
Passive Income (and Money Trees)
Once you’ve earned and saved 1,450 Bucks, invest in a Money Tree. This long-term investment will generate 8 Bucks every 5 minutes while you’re online. This passive income adds up quickly during long play sessions.
Participate in Events
Seasonal events introduce limited-time pets that usually become valuable in trades once the event is over. Event pets can’t be hatched from standard eggs after the event closes. The more time passes after a specific event ends, the more valuable such pets become.
Saving Bucks specifically for event currency is also a smart long-term investment to grab specialty items (like the 2026 Fire Horse Apples).
Participating in seasonal events that get you what becomes highly coveted pets over time puts you in a great position to earn some real coin for yourself. This is assuming you’d consider looking into trusted marketplaces to buy/sell Adopt Me! Accounts from verified sources.

What About Star Rewards?
Each day you play earns you up to 20 Stars depending on activity. These accumulate on the Star Rewards track and can be redeemed for pets, toys, and vehicles at specific milestones. The highest reward is the Diamond Egg, which is unlocked at 660 Stars.
Pet Handler Pro Upgrade
A Pet Handler Pro upgrade doubles your maximum daily Bucks cap. This means you can earn up to 500 Bucks per day when combining jobs and daily logins. If you play daily, this pays for itself very quickly.
Finding the Best Pets
Out of Adopt Me!’s 200 pets, which are the best, and how can you get them? From the list, there are five rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra-Rare, and Legendary.
The rarer the pet, the more tasks they need to complete to reach Full Grown status. However, they’re worth more in trades. Let’s look into this further.
Pet Age | Tasks Needed | Unlocked Trick |
Newborn | None | Sit |
Junior | 3 to 5 | Lay Down |
Pre-Teen | 6 to 11 | Bounce |
Teen | ~16 | Roll Over |
Post-Teen | ~20 | Backflip |
Full Grown (Common to Legendary) | 25 to 183 | Dance |
A Common pet reaches full-grown status after about 25 tasks. Legendary pets may require up to 183 tasks.
What About Neon and Mega Neon (Rainbow) Pets?
Merging four full-grown versions of the same pet species at the Neon Cave gets you a Neon pet. This leads to a single glowing pet and becomes a higher-valued collectible. If you want a Mega Neon pet that cycles rainbow colors, merge four Neon pets of the same species. These are the most sought-after pets in the game.
Aging up to four pets to Full Grown takes time. Focus on one species at a time if it's your goal to get Neon and Mega Neon pets. Don’t spread yourself too thin with multiple pet species if you’re looking to rack up Adopt Me! Bucks through trade.
Use Pet Pen
Pet Pen lets you store up to 5 pets at once. (You’ll need 295 Bucks to unlock the 5th slot.)
Pets stored in the Pet Pen earn an extra 800 XP per hour while you’re online. Its passive aging is quite useful for grinding multiple pets toward Full Grown.
Adopt Me! Trading
Trading Plazing is where players exchange eggs, items, and pets. You can offer up to 18 items in a single trade offer here. Now, if you’re trading rare items, you need a Trade License. You can get this at the Safety Hub (near Green Groceries) on Adoption Island.
You need to answer three questions about trading scenarios correctly first. Once you pass the test, you’ll get the license. Now, if you fail to give the right answers, don’t worry. You can take the test as many times as you need to pass.
It’s important to understand IGN’s Adopt Me! Guide item values before entering the Trading Plaza. This is for your benefit, as is using the in-game Trade Calculator to check item values. Also, refer to the Trade Book, as it logs your trade history and flags potential scam patterns.
What About Building & Customizing Homes?
Adopt Me! Has homes ranging from a free Tiny Home to a Luxury Apartment (valued at 8000 Bucks). It also has over 4000 furniture items for customization. You can host parties at home or trade houses through the mailbox system.
As appealing as this may be, if you’re new to the game or rebooting from scratch, upgrading your home should be the least of your immediate concerns. Focus on investing in pets and the Pet Pen first. The home can wait until you’ve established a solid income flow and the confidence that you can afford an upgrade without worry.
